On March 18 – 19, 2013 a celebration of the 20th anniversary and a General Assembly of the Council of Notariats of the European Union (CNUE)
The president of the Lithuanian Chamber of Notaries, a notary of Klaipeda city first notary bureau Marius Stračkaitis participated in a conference that was held in the Brussels Solvay Library on the occation of the 20th anniversary of the Council of Notariats of the European Union (CNUE) on March 18, 2013 and in the General Assembly of the Council of Notariats of the European Union that took place on March 19, 2013.
The CNUE president for 2013, a Luxemburg notary Frank Molitor presided over the conference and the General Assembly. At the conference dedicated to the 20th anniversary of CNUE the history of the Council of Notariats of the European Union from 1993 to 2013 was observed by the honoured president of UINL, the president of Italian notariat Giancarlo Laurini. Presentation about the challenges that European notariat faces was given by the director of the Director General for Justice and Home Affairs of the European Committee Francoise Le Bail, about the importance of a notarized document in international inheritance – by former member of the European Parliaament from Germany, a notary Kurt Lehner, about imporatnce of a notarized document in projects of regulations on property legal regime of spouses and property regulations of registered partnership – by a member of the European Parliament from Germany Alexandra Thein, about a notarized document and review of the Brussels I regulation – by a member of the European Parliament from Austria Evelyne Regner, about the role of a notary in transfer of immovable property – the head of the working group on the mortgage law of CNUE, a French notary Thierry Vachon. The Ambassador of Belgium to the European Union Dirk Wouters analyzed the direct connection between the global economical crisis and activities of notariat.
Among participants of the General Assembly of CNUE there were representatives of notariats from Germany, Belgium, Austria, Spain, Estonia, France, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Poland, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Holland, Malta, Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Portugal and Croatia as well as CNUE bureau officials.
